Walking Towards A Nourished Tomorrow

Undernourishment means that a person is unable to acquire enough food to meet the daily minimum dietary energy requirements. The Food and Agriculture Organization defines hunger as being synonymous with chronic undernourishment. India has been growing steadily richer in the recent years, but it still has more malnourished people than many other countries. The situation of hunger in India has been made worse by the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

With the country battling widespread hunger, a staggering 14% of India’s population is undernourished. Currently standing in the 94th position among the 107 countries, our country has a GHI score of 27.2, indicating acute hunger.

Our goals are to:

  • Improve Food Security: We make food accessible to school-going children and various communities across the country with our various food relief programs and impeccable delivery network.
  • Help People Tackle Undernourishment: We provide food relief to different communities, including school children, slum residents, healthcare workers, and daily wage earners without any prejudice based on race, religion, caste, gender, or creed.
  • Improve National Health with Better Nutrition: Our food relief and mid-day meal programs are focused at bringing nutritious meals to the ones in need and improve their health and wellbeing.

Vision

Our vision is to nurture a hunger-free India

A majority of India’s population still lacks access to one square meal a day. As one of India’s most active food NGOs, Annamrita has resolved to liberate the underprivileged communities from the vicious cycle of poverty by serving them nutritious meals. We aim to provide nutritious meals to various sections of our society and help them tackle undernourishment.

Mission

Our mission is to serve nutritious and high-quality meals to the underprivileged communities of India

We are creating a meaningful and tangible change in our society with the food we serve through our donation programs. Initiatives like Operation Karuna, Kit Of Joy, Project Satvik have helped us serve over 8 crore meals in just over one year.
